Fast forward to today, the adjoining 5 acre block to the old pear orchard was purchased from my uncle in 2013. This property was the site of the first school in Wandiligong in the mid-1800’s. Later a dairy farm. It was blessed with an established mixed variety chestnut orchard, hazelnut grove, fruit trees and a large shed. We added a big vegie patch and graadually getting the garden looking ok. We have practiced Demeter Biodynamics since Autumn 2014 which focuses on building soil full of life, aka an active ecology of micro and macro biota. As the Demeter Biodynamic saying goes ‘nutrient dense food with flavour’.
